Background
She was a straight-A student and a gifted kid in school. Her photographic memory and willingness to learn made learning and remembering new info a breeze. Mabel developed a love for writing in highschool which sparked the passion she carries with her now. In high school, she entered a youth writers' contest for fun and won first place!
After graduating, she took a gap year to focus on her writing endeavors. unfortunately, her search for a publisher was unsuccessful. Her sister, being the tech-savvy person she is, recommended Mabel work at a nearby maid cafe.
Regrettably, she did NOT enjoy her time there. Mabel quickly gained popularity upon starting her job as a server. This spike in popularity led to several unpleasant encounters with annoying guests, resulting in her sour demeanor. The customers started referring to her as the “sassy maid” because of her attitude toward them. Her coworkers were one of the few good things about working there, besides the food.
“Frills and Fluff, the name of the maid cafe, began business two years before Mabel found the opening. At the time of opening, there were five employees in total: three servers, one cook, and one manager. The manager and the cook opened the cafe after their visit to Japan. They wanted to bring a piece of the city back to their hometown.”
She then searched for a career, something that would bring fulfillment to her daily life. Because of her fondness for reading, attention to detail, organization skills, and exceptional memory, she became a librarian. She went to uni online to pursue a master's in library science.
She's been employed at her current job for about a year now and hosts a weekly book club. She gets along well with her coworkers, hanging out semi-often. However, most library visitors find Mabel's resting expression displeasing. Her kindness shows through when helping others, and they see her true personality.
One of Mabel's major hobbies is creative writing. Most pretty much everyone she knows is aware of this, and they only see her fictional short stories. Little known to them, she also is a skilled and talented fan fiction writer on AO3. Mabel, under the pseudonym “scizorxsister”, has written way too many one-shots and an ongoing GL romance story about her two favorite characters.
“Although her pen name has the name bug Pokemon 'scizor' in it, she knows nothing about Pokemon. She just wanted her username to be a pun and reference yuri somehow.”
Mabel is a humble librarian living in Quebec, Canada. Her parents were born and raised in South America but moved to Canada before Mabel and her twin sister, Hazel, were born.
The two were inseparable. Hazel was the extroverted one, always reaching out to make new friendships, and Mabel usually stuck to herself and her small group of friends. Their family always ate meals together at the dinner table and played games together on the weekends. The siblings maintain close family ties and frequently treat their mom to outings.

Mabel is a kind person at heart, even though her appearance may say otherwise. She has very polite mannerisms and way She doesn't mind helping someone find an obscure book especially since she probably remembers where it is.
Strengths
After realizing she may appear unapproachable to most people, she became a master of conversation and small talk. People will often times open up to her despite her expressionless appearance.
Weaknesses
She sometimes a hard time relating to others about their problems. Because she tries her best to Is very practical and direct with her advice and can make some people feel like she doesn't really care.
Flaws
Mabel is a bit of a perfectionist in the things she does, both at work and in her hobbies. She hates when people take books off the shelves and don't put them back where they're supposed to be. You'll often find her grumbling to herself while re-shelving them. In addition, Mabel's dedication to her writing as a craft and her readers causes her to agonize over small details.
